Canadian Models
Canadian models of the Samsung displays have slightly different models numbers; e.g., HPT5064X/XAC instead of HPT5064X/XAA. At least two people who own Canadian models have would used the firmware in this library successfully. It appear firmware updates work for models intended for both U.S. and Canadian markets [1].
Library
Samsung often provides their firmware updates as self-extracting EXE files. However, for the convenience of non-Windows users and to prevent the needless execution of arbitrary code, we provide most of the firmware updates as zip archives. No files are added or altered from the original self-extracting EXE.
Attention all 5054 T-LIV50AUSC owners
Although firmware revision 1039 fixes judder, owners with the T-LIV50AUSC board who install firmware version 1039 will temporarily lose access to the connections located on the side of the display panel. To re-enable them you will need to enter the Service Menu after installing the 1039 update and hit the "Reset" function. (Owners of the 5054 T-LIL model and other models, e.g., xx64 (T-CAL) and xx34, do not need to perform this reset.)
If you do not know if you own a T-LIV50AUSC, or are you are unsure, follow these steps.
Why are xx54 and xx34 firmware revisions so much larger than xx64 and xx84 revisions?
The xx54 and xx34 firmware revisions contain firmware updates for two boards (T-LIL and T-LIV). The xx64 and xx84 firmware revisions contain firmware upgrades for just a single board (T-CAL). Read this for more information on the topic. Note the firmware revision numbers are different between the T-LIL and T-LIV boards (e.g., 1039 and 1035 for T-LIL but 1010 and 1004 for T-LIV). During the firmware upgrade process, the Samsung display determines which firmware revision to use. No action is required on your part.
