Main Boards

Main boards are named internally by Samsung. They appear to be named after flowers (LILY, CALLA, SAFA).

There are three versions of Main Boards for the current 720p Samsung Plasma Displays.

  • T-LILxxAUSC - used in both xx54 and xx34 models
  • T-LIVxxAUSC - used in both xx54 and xx34 models
  • T-CALxxAUSC - used exclusively in xx64 models

where xx is 42 or 50, depending on the dimensions of the panel.

There are three known main boards for the 1080p Samsung displays:

  • T-SAFAUSS - used in models manufactured beginning in June 2007
  • T-SAFAUSC - used in the 5084 model
  • T-SAF58AUSC - used in the 5884 model

Why is this important?

All T-LIL, T-CAL and the 5054 T-LIV main boards no longer have judder problems after upgrading their firmware to revision 1039. T-LIV 42 boards do not have a Judder fix yet. Ironically, T-LIV boards appear to be manufactured more recently than T-LIL boards as most or perhaps all displays manufactured after September 2007 have T-LIV boards.

How can I determine which Main Board my display has?

The type of main board is shown when displaying the firmware revision. Follow these directions to show the main board and firmware revision.
