Eric, wouldn't this link be better for the QAM link? --Mfenech 05:53, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yep. I'll change it. --grimholtz 14:20, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
There are enough differences between those sets and our 34/54/64s to explain why our sets judder and theirs dont. I wonder how they do firmware upgrades. Benjamin
- Excellent question. Where did you learn they don't have USB ports? --grimholtz 15:33, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
I had a copy of the owners PDF manual and couldnt find any USB port on the Side or Rear panels nor any mention of firmware updates. Its mentioned on that PDF that I uploaded.--Wiselink-- I believe its called. Fresher this morning, and I would guess the upgrades are made thru a remote. I have a C96 PDF that I will upload later and will be searching this weekend for a German version, that I understand is a little different from its UK cousin. he C96 does not have Movie Plus, and I think both have S-Video inputs on the front panel only.
The German and Australian versions of C91 and Q91 appear to be the same. Q91 has Movie Plus and Smart frame but C91 does not have Movie Plus. Also on these models I see what appears to be a USB port on the back panel, its identified as "Service" and is likely for firmware upgrades only. There are a lot of files in lizardtech dejvu format. Would those be readable here if they were uploaded??
- Yes, just me the dejvu file extension and I'll change the settings so they can be uploaded. --grimholtz 21:06, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
This is what it looks like 20070324112733312_BN68-01181A-X7_Eng0321.pdf.djvu
- Ok, you should be able to upload those filetypes now. If you have them as PDFs, though, please upload them as PDFs. I think more people have PDF viewers than deja vu.--grimholtz 00:33, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Ok. Ive uploaded a number of files but didnt do anything with them. I didnt know how to delete the c91 q91 djvu file as the PDF version is there also. Benjamin.
- I deleted the djvu files for you. Now we just need to link to the PDF files, either on this page or on the Manuals page so people can find the files. Do you know how to do that or do you want me to? --grimholtz 14:29, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
If you would do it for me please, Im still struggling with the small things that Im doing now. Thanks. I noticed you deleted the Q96 and 97 djvu file, that was the only one, there was no PDF for it.
- OK, I restored the file. I'll add links to them at Manuals and on Professional Reviews. --grimholtz 16:28, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
After all that I just discovered I can get the Q97 and C96 PDF manual Files. Ill upload them this evening and try and put them in the same areas. If you get a chance look at the rear panels on the Q97 and C96, sure dont look much like ours.
Euro firmware update
From Euro site: I guess the service port is used for major firmware updates although I guess in severe circumstances a new ROM could be installed. I also understand that small firmware mods are transmitted via Free to air digital terrestrial television service.(Freeview) Samsung told me today they are transmitting an update on 10th October. --- The only service port I see is something that resembles the wall mount control on our sets, perhaps it serves a dual purpose on the Euros.Benjamin.
