How can restore or recalibrate the HDMI settings if I messed them up while in the Service Menu?

Are you sure you can mess up the HDMI settings in the service menu? I thought this calibration is for people like ISF. Also, should we mention the page in the service manual for this? --grimholtz 17:19, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

should we move this to the Service Menu? --grimholtz 17:21, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I referenced it in the SM section under Warnings. --Mfenech 07:44, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Note: on the 5044, PIP can only display the VGA/PC input.

Doesnt make sense to me. You should have the same PIP choices as with the 34, 54 and 64. Benjamin 05 Nov.

The samsung site says "VGA" or "PC" next to the PIP info for the 5044. I take that to mean it only works for VGA/PC, but until someone buys one and let's us know, who knows what it really means. --71.184.105.187 01:45, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

The Samsung 5044 owners manual says:

➢ Analog TV signals can be viewed on the PIP screen while viewing the picture from an external source (DVD, Set-top box, PC etc.) connected to the Component 1, 2, PC and HDMI 1, 2 jacks on the main screen.

*Main picture: Component 1,2 HDMI1, 2 and PC inputs
*Sub picture: Analog TV broadcasts only..

Static or 'pixel noise' in very dark of black areas of the screen

I have a Samsung FTP5084 and I cant seem to get rid of the this annoying static (like pixel noise) in all of the areas of the screen that are black or very dark. Is there a setting that causes this? Is it a common problem with this model, or plasmas in general?
My TV is connected to a Denon AVR635 receiver, with my PS3 and SAT TV input to the Denon. All components are powered from a MonsterPower HDP2400 Clean Power Center. Weather any of that is relavent or not, I dont know. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas I could try to get rid of this static like noise?
Try turning off some of the post-processing options; they might be causing noise. Also, is your brightness level turned up high? --Eric H. Jung 10:21, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Samsung PS50B650 : wrong firmware

I accidentally installed wrong firmware from UK website. Is there any way to recall the old firmware? With the new firmware, picture becomes upside down, wrong inputs, and cannot update firmware. It won't detect the update folder. I tried to get into service menu but couldn't solve. Please help. thanks.

You need to downgrade the firmware. If you can't do that because the menu option isn't there, then you've bricked your television. The only way to fix it is to replace the Main Board. Sorry for the bad news. --Eric H. Jung 19:23, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I had the same problem with my PS50B855. I changed something called "Chelsea HV switch" in service mode. When in service mode: Controll - Config option - Chelsea HV flip - Off. Restart TV.
